The culture of the country is widely associated with my topic, Peruvian sports. The sports bring in all different social classes and ethnicities. In Peru soccer is the national sport, and basically everyone takes part in the activities involving soccer. Another popular sport in Peru is Taekwondo. Taekwondo was first introduced to Peru by John Polar. The first Peruvian taekwondo clubs were founded in Arequipa. Women's volleyball is another rather popular sport in Peru. A third very important sport in Peru is tennis. Luis Horna and Jaime Yzaga are the most popular tennis players from Peru. Although this sport is not quite as popular as the other sports in Peru, their tennis league does generally well. One last important sport that all people can take part in is sailing. Peru is the only country in the has won the Central, South American, and Caribbean Championships for six years in Sunfish class. These are the few examples if how the culture of Peru shows manifest in my topic.
